JoAnn took office as County Commissioner for Precinct 4 on January 1, 2003. 

She is married to Kevin S. Hampton and they have two children, Constance ( Robert Potts) and Miles. The Hamptons are members of 

Spring Creek Baptist Church.

JoAnn is a graduate Tyler Junior College and also attended the University of Texas at Tyler. She was a graduate of the New East Texas Foundation Leadership Class "95" and Leadership Texas "96."

Commissioner Hampton is a Certified Clinical Research Professional and is employed by East Texas Medical Center Cancer Institute.
