Elections and Voter Registration
Welcome to the Elections Administration Office for Smith County. The functions of the Smith County Elections Department are to register voters and maintain accurate voter registration rolls for the 80 Smith County precincts. We also conduct all countywide and special elections, as well as elections conducted under interlocal contracts. 

The goal of the elections department is to provide and protect the voting rights of the citizens of Smith County and assure them that the vote they cast will be effectively and accurately tabulated.

Please note the following important information:
  • Next Election - November 3, 2009
    Click the following link to review a sample of the 11 (eleven) Constitutional Amendments to be decided at the next general election on November 3, 2009.
  • Voter Registration Deadline:
    To be eligible to vote in any election you must be registered 30 days prior to Election Day. Please check out our voter registration page for details on how to do this.
  • Address Change Online:
    If you have moved within the county, you may change your name or address online. Click here to take advantage of this service provided by the Secretary of State.
  • Be a Poll Worker:
    If you are interested in becoming a poll worker, please take a moment to fill out this application and mail or fax it back into us. We always appreciate the help! Earn a few extra dollars and do your community a service.
