Job Title: Facility Foreman

Facility Foreman/Juvenile Services Job duties will include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash cans, stripping, waxing, buffing floors, and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies. Essential Job Functions: Must be able to climb stairs, lift 40 lbs, safely and properly operate buffer, properly supervise youth in cleaning of building. Must be able to vacuum, sweep, mop, buff and wax floors. Must be able to work varied hours and flexible schedule. Must be able to drive 3/4 ton van and hold valid Texas driver’s license. Must be insurable by county carrier. Must pass drug, work fitness, physical and psychological examination. Job Requirements: Must be punctual and professional in dress, mannerisms and conversations. Must be confidential with any material that may be viewed or overheard in discussions relating to files or investigations of this department. Must complete assigned tasks in a timely and thorough manner. Other Information: Salary: $17,500 annually plus $4200 upon successful completion of Juvenile Trustee Certification/ Full county benefits including health and life insurance, vacation, retirement and sick leave. Normal working days will be Monday thru Friday with a slight probability of some weekends on special occasions. Job Title: Part Time Case Aide
Department: Juvenile
Description: Responsible for assisting probation officers by performing duties not requiring certification as a probation officer. These duties will include, but are not limited to; retrieving school records, notifying families of court hearings or appointments, transportation of families and/or children to court, appointment letters and letters to victims, delivering documents to and from other County offices, filing alphabetically and numerically, and assisting in physical intervention as necessary. Description: Operates motor grader in the performance of skilled blade work as required in the construction and maintenance of county roads and related facilities for the Smith County Road & Bridge Department. Performs work and operates equipment for various crews as needed, such as patching, paving, culvert work, hauling materials, traffic control, etc. Requirements: High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) completed or in progress. Job Title: Detention Officer-Jailer
Department: Sheriff
Responsible for guarding inmates, inspection locks, windows, bars, doors etc., patrol, assigned areas, may be required to physically restrain inmates, prepare written reports, deliver meals, books, mail and property to inmates, aid medical staff. Requirements: Must be able to work shift hours, high school diploma or equivalent, valid Texas Drivers License, must be able to pass all required testing, minimum age of 19. Jailers must also pass a state test to be certified before completion of one year of employment.
