Trustee Supervisor/Road & Bridge Supervises the work performed by the trustees from the Smith County Jail in construction and maintenance of roads and bridges for Smith County Road and Bridge Department. Secures equipment, materials and services necessary to perform work and complete projects. Operates backhoe, track hoe, welder, chainsaw and other equipment as required. Supervises and instructs trustees in the construction of fences, retaining walls, bridges and other facilities. Road and Bridge/Operator I Job Description: Light and/or heavy equipment operation. Teacher/Smith County Juvenile Services, Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible for providing educational instruction to students expelled to the Smith County JJAEP under Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code. Curriculum includes all educational levels including special education designations. Work hours are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Speak, read, and write English fluently. Ability to convey instructional material to a varied audience and measure feedback for learning. Prepare and maintain lesson plans. Follow and implement special education requirements including BIP, EIP, modifications and others. Have basic computer skills with typing ability. Juvenile/Truancy Officer Scope of Position: Responsible for helping to decrease absenteeism in JJAEP by contacting student or family member by phone to ascertain reason for absenteeism.
