	To pay your taxes by phone with a credit card call 1-866-549-1010. Please read all of the following information before calling. Make sure you have received a confirmation number in order to insure that your payment process is complete.

	To pay your taxes online by credit card go to www. certifiedpayments.net to access the authorized agent of the Smith County Tax Office OR click on the link below. Please read all of the following information before going online. Make sure you have received a confirmation number in order to insure that your payment process is complete.

•	Have your tax statement and credit card available.
•	USE BUREAU CODE 5350820
•	There will be a non refundable convenience fee of 2.50% added to your transaction for the use of this service whether payment is made by phone or on-line. You will be informed of the total amount of this fee before payment is finalized. You must accept or decline to pay this fee. If you decline to pay this convenience fee in addition to your tax amount, your payment will not be processed. Smith County is prohibited by law from absorbing the cost of providing this convenience.
•	Be sure you have received a confirmation number in order to insure that the payment process is complete.
•	Payments made by credit card will be posted in the tax office after the funds are received in the tax office bank account. After a payment is submitted, there may be 3 to 5 business days before the tax office will be able to post the funds. Date of payment will be recorded as the day you submitted your payment to Certified Payments.
•	Tax payments made by 12:00 a.m. (mid-night) on January 31 for the previous tax year will be posted as ON TIME payments, without penalty or interest.
