HR Director Esmeralda Delmas
Esmeralda Delmas is the Human Resources Director for Smith County.
Her passion has always been helping others, and she believed she could do this through pursing a career in human resources.
She was born in Tyler and studied at Tyler Junior College before earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in human resources development from the University of Texas at Tyler.
She started working as a probation officer for Smith County in 2008, a position in the Human Resources Department became available. Mrs. Delmas became our HR Coordinator in 2015, and HR Director in July 2019.

The mission of the Smith County Human Resources Department is to assist county departments in managing human resources and benefits programs; while providing a safe and healthy work environment to our employees throughout their Smith County employment life cycle.
