Director Esmeralda Delmas
Esmeralda Delmas is the Human Resources Director for Smith County.
Her passion has always been helping others, and she believed she could do this through pursuing a career in human resources.
She was born in Tyler and studied at Tyler Junior College before earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in human resources development from the University of Texas at Tyler.
She started working as a probation officer for Smith County in 2008, and patiently waited for a position in human resources to become available. Mrs. Delmas became HR Coordinator in 2015, and HR Director in July 2019.
Before going to work for Smith County, Mrs. Delmas worked as an HR supervisor for a private company, as clinic manager for a local hospital and as a call center supervisor.
