JUNE 9, 2020 UPDATE: The Smith County Commissioners Court meetings will reopen to the public. Beginning June 16, 2020, and until further notice, a maximum capacity of 35 people will be allowed in the Smith County Commissioners Courtroom, with public seating available for 20 people. The temporary limited courtroom capacity is to allow for social distancing guidelines put out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Texas Governor Greg Abbott. All Regular, Special Emergency, and Executive Session Meetings of the Smith County Commissioners Court will be called and conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Texas Open Meeting Act, Texas Government Code, chapter 551.
Posting Public Notices and Agendas
All public notices and agendas must be posted in the Smith County Courthouse kiosks in the designated windows. To post an agenda or public notice, please ask a courthouse security guard for assistance or call 903-590-4605 for more information.
The Smith County Commissioners Court normally meets in the courtroom on the first floor of Smith County Courthouse Annex on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Each meeting notice will be approved by the County Judge and posted at the Smith County Courthouse and on www.smith-county.com, pursuant to the procedures listed in the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
